So we have had to be inventive in what to do. The first thing we did was to volunteer at the Mission Office to be "helping hands" people in their basement storage area. This mission is a biking mission, so there are old bikes and parts everywhere. The office missionaries are swamped with everyday requirements so cleaning the basement is a "when we get a free moment" event.
This is part of what we saw when we showed up. And this was only 1 of 3 rooms that we worked in. Bikes, bikes, boxes, piles, damp cardboard boxes (from high humidity).
After 3 days of work, we had regained some floor space. It was pretty fun. Even the Mission President noticed. There are probably about 2 dozen bikes that will be scrapped.
Since we also love to do Family History work, at the suggestion of one of the young Elders, we put together a training class for a District (2-4 pairs of Elders/Sisters) of learning about their own family ancestors so that they could help their investigators, converts and members of the church gain a desire to learn more about their ancestors. It is a 2 hour class, with a followup, if desired for each companionship to get individual training. We worked with about 22 missionaries so far.
Working with these young missionaries has been some of the most rewarding work we have done so far.
